Of all the San Diego wedding DJs in America’s finest city, Jenny and Dane chose me to DJ and MC their Bali Hai wedding on Saturday, July 8, 2017.
THE LOVE STORY
Jenny & Dane met in November 2011, through friends. On July 2016, Dane proposed in Sweden (where Jenny & her family are from) on vacation…awwww. Together, they enjoy going on hikes, trivia, and watching funny TV shows.
THE CEREMONY
Dane & Jenny’s wedding party entered to “A Thousand Years,” The Piano Guys (originally Christina Perri). Jenny and her dad walked down the aisle to “Pride and Prejudice Main Theme (Dawn)”. After the interesting ceremony which opening discussed sex (their clinical psychologist friend/officiant warned them!), the newlyweds walked back down the aisle together to “Best Day of My Life,” American Authors.
THE BALI HAI WEDDING RECEPTION
After the Grand Entrance and dinner, the First Dance was to “H.O.L.Y.,” Florida Georgia Line. The Mother-Son Dance was to “What a Wonderful World,” Louie Armstrong. The Father-Daughter Dance was to “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The couple wanted to get the formalities out of the way before dinner! After dinner, all that was left was toasting, cake cutting to “Say Hey,” Michael Franti & Spearhead and Bouquet Toss to “Single Ladies,” Beyoncé.
THE PLAYLIST
For the cocktail hour/dinner playlist at this Bali Hai wedding, the bride and groom requested Soft Country/Classic & Guitar Rock and “Your Song,” Elton John, “Summer Wind,” Frank Sinatra, “I’ll Still Be Loving You,” Restless Heart, “Heaven,” Bryan Adams, and “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life,” Stevie Wonder. For dancing, Jenny & Dane requested “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” Justin Timberlake, “Shut Up and Dance,” Walk The Moon, and “Twist and Shout,” Beatles.
