Mission Valley Marriott Wedding

On Saturday, January 4, 2014, I DJed Andrea + Darryl’s Mission Valley Marriott wedding. They had a harpist during the ceremony, which was lovely. The arch provided by Breathtaking Bridal Bouquets was also a stunning visual centerpiece for the event.

THE MISSION VALLEY MARRIOTT WEDDING RECEPTION

Afterwards, cocktails and snacks were served in the courtyard. We kicked off the reception with the Bridal Party Entrance to “Bring ‘Em Out,” by T.I. I then introduced the Newlyweds to “Right Thurr” by Chingy.

After the tasty meal catered by the Marriott, several people toasted the bride + groom. One of the groomsmen did comment during his toast that Andrea + Darryl liked “the weirdest songs,” which made me feel a bit more comfortable going into open dancing.

The First Dance song was “Let’s Stay Together,” by Al Green. It was followed by a Family Dance to “What a Wonderful World,” by Louis Armstrong. The cake was cut to “Love Fell on Me,” by Sheila Frasier.

THE MUSIC

Open dancing consisted 100% of a long playlist submitted by the bride and groom. No requests were allowed. The bouquet was tossed to “Single Ladies,” by Beyonce. This was followed by a Dollar Dance featuring “She Works Hard for the Money,” by Donna Summer, “Material Girl,” by Madonna, “Rich Girl,” by Gwen Stefani, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” by the Beatles, and “Ride With Me (Must Be the Money),” by Nelly. The Last Dance choice was “You Are So Beautiful,” by Louis Armstrong.
