Wedding Branding - BasicInvite com

You’ve probably noticed that weddings are moving towards what I think can most accurately be described as “branding.” By branding I mean couples have consistent fonts, colors, a very concrete theme…I even DJed a wedding last year for a couple, Oriana & Patrick, that had a bonafied logo. Their wedding logo appeared on their invites, on their wedding website, on the menu, on some “wedding weekend” t-shirts, and so on. (Even their playlists were “branded”!!! Check out Oriana & Patrick’s “Ultimate Eclectic, Rustic, Indie, Feel-Good Wedding Playlist.”)

My thoughts? I like it. A lot of engaged couples already have the basic ingredients of a wedding brand (consistent look & vibe). Take those existing elements to the next level and make them officially your “wedding brand.” It really just requires a mental shift and not much else. For example, Diosa & Ryan called their “wedding brand” enchanted garden. Chrissy and Aaron called theirs vintage woodsy.

STEP #1 OF WEDDING BRANDING

The first step towards branding your wedding is deciding on the colors, font(s), and vibe (Elegant? Modern? Edgy? Industrial? Romantic? Rustic? Glam?) then incorporating the chosen brand into your save-the-date cards and invitations. (If you do an engagement shoot before sending STDs or invites, be sure the shoot reflects your wedding brand.) Use your wedding stationery as a creative space to experiment with the brand elements you’ve chosen and make sure you like how everything comes together.

For this, I highly recommend BasicInvite.com. Their prices are very competitive, and they include no-lick envelopes (OK, I guess the official term is “peel & seal”). On BasicInvite.com, you can experiment with infinite colors and fonts on their chic, fresh invite templates. (No, Wedding Paper Divas does NOT offer this feature).
