Stella Jose Bilingual Ranch Bandy Canyon Wedding 1

Of all the bilingual San Diego wedding DJs in the county, Stella and Jose chose me to DJ and MC their intercultural Ranch at Bandy Canyon wedding on September 19, 2015…and lucky for this post, they chose Brit Jaye Photography to capture the awesome sauce!

THE LOVE STORY

Stella & Jose’s love story began at a wedding in 2011. Stella was a bridesmaid & Jose was a groomsman. They spent the entire wedding together dancing, flirting, & eventually sharing their first kiss at the after-party.

Then, on September 20th, 2014, Jose & Stella were in Santa Barbara on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Jose got down on one knee & presented a ring to Stella. Her reaction was just tears…happy tears.

THE CEREMONY

The groom, groomsmen, and groom’s mother entered to an instrumental version of “Here Comes the Sun.” The bridesmaids and flower girls entered to the Taylor Swift cover “Begin Again” by the Piano Guys. The bride walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” After the ceremony, performed by a friend, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle to Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in my Life.”

THE BILINGUAL RANCH AT BANDY CANYON WEDDING RECEPTION

After helping to translate the English toasts to Spanish and vice versa, Jose danced with his mom to Banda Machos’ “Gracias Mujer,” and Stella danced with her dad to Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me.” The First Dance started out as Juan Gabriel’s “Te Lo Pido Por Favor” then halfway I cut to Galantis’ “Runaway (U and I),” to which the bride and groom had choreographed their own dance routine.

THE PLAYLIST

For the cocktail hour, the bride and groom requested samba, boleros, and flamenco guitar. For dinner, their playlist consisted of covers by the Postmodern Jukebox.

For open dancing, Stella and Jose wanted to hear:

…and whatever Spanish music I felt was appropriate. Again, I was honored to be the one and only bilingual San Diego wedding DJ Stella and Jose trusted with their big, fat intercultural wedding. Thank you! See more at #HappilyEverMedinas.
