Of all the bilingual San Diego wedding DJs–yep, yep–Brenda & Theresa chose me to DJ and MC their same-sex Hazy Meadow Ranch wedding on October 22, 2016. So grateful!

THE LOVE STORY

Brenda & Theresa met in the Fall of 2011 when they were playing softball for Southwestern College. Brenda played short stop, and Theresa played left field.

Hazy Meadow Ranch Wedding 20

On July 10, 2015 (the day before Theresa’s 25th birthday), Brenda took Theresa on a Hornblower cruise around San Diego. Brenda took Theresa out on the balcony overlooking the water. She pretended to go get drinks, but what she was really doing was trying to find someone to record the moment for her. Brenda walked back with two beers, and the bartender walking behind her recording us on her phone. Theresa was confused…until she saw Brenda get down on one knee and ask propose. Theresa burst into tears, and everyone around started clapping!

Together, they enjoy sitting on their couch with their dog watching Netflix, going out to eat, and having a nice cold beer.

THE CEREMONY

Ever seen the Disney movie “Up”? It’s sort of the cartoon equivalent of “The Notebook.” From the “Up” soundtrack, Theresa chose “The Ellie Badge” for her entrance and “The Married Life” for their recessional. For her entrance, Brenda chose “Amarte Es un Placer” by Luis Miguel. Awwwww…

As if this Hazy Meadow Ranch wedding wasn’t gorgeous enough, the brides got to enter & exit the ceremony via horse-drawn carriage! Truly magical.

THE HAZY MEADOW RANCH WEDDING RECEPTION

After a fab entrance to Rihanna’s “You Da One,” we ate, toasted, and cut cake. The brides did a combo Father-Daughter Dance to “Daughters” by John Mayer, then Brenda danced with her Grandpa to Elvis’ “Love Me Tender.”

THE PLAYLIST

For the cocktail hour, the brides requested soft variety, motown/R&B, and “summer-time” hip hop. Dinner was bassanova, bachata, and salsa. Brenda is a huge Nicky Jam & Romeo Santos fan, so that was the only “must plays” for dancing. The “do not play” list was a bit longer: “YMCA,” “Hokie Pokie,” “Chicken Dance,” “What Does the Fox Say,” and “Gangnam Style.”

Again, I was honored to be the one and only bilingual San Diego wedding DJ Theresa & Brenda trusted with their Hazy Meadow Ranch wedding. Thank you! See more at #TerryAndBrenda2016.
